Golden Keg

Delicious food, friendly staff and atmosphere. Car parking at the front and rear is also an added bonus. The restaurant was very busy and loud but it’s Christmas so to be expected. Would not put us off returning.

Went for the Sunday Buffet. The food was amazing and the the atmosphere was lovely. We were greeted on arrival and the service was excellent. Will definitely be returning, keep it up . Only one small fault (picky), the baby changing/disabled toilet was very cold. Otherwise a pleasant experience.

Been today to celebrate a 21st birthday. It was a buffet lunch it was amazing. Also would like to point how honest the staff are, our meal was being paid for by the family of the 21st party. As I went to ask for our bill for our drinks they told me what it was he placed the amount into card machine then realised we was with the party and then my card must of accidently been close to machine and it took the amount. I wasn't aware of this and then said I will be back in a minute to check that the family was paying for food. On my return to the bar he then said yes family confirmed meal being paid by them so gave me amount for drinks to which I paid. It was about 45 minutes after the lady of the house came to me and asked me to go the bar for a refund as she had realised the first amount inputed had been taken by my card, and a refund was made for the amount. Well done golden keg for your honesty that goes a long way in my eyes.

Today we were celebrating my sister’s 70th Birthday and what better place to accommodate 19 of us? Some of us had been before but others hadn’t. The ones who’d been before for the Sunday buffet couldn’t wait to come again and the others thought it was ideal. From start to finish the staff were friendly & efficient, the food was fantastic, couldn’t fault it. A really enjoyable way to celebrate a 70th Birthday with family. We will be back.

Have eaten here numerous times over the years and never had a bad meal, great on a Wednesday night where you get a free starters. Wife had the madras and I had the "Nelly special" (a mixture of lamb and chicken in a balti sauce) both were delicious

After having wanted to visit the Golden Keg many times in the past, and, somehow, not quite finding the time, tonight was the night! We wanted to take our friend out to somewhere special, that special somewhere was The Golden Keg. We visited on a Wednesday, our greeting from the relaxed, happy staff was perfect, we instantly felt at home in the spacious, uncramped dining area, as it was a Wednesday all of our starters were free, that has to be a bonus, The starters were truly the best that I have ever sampled. Mains, sensible sized portions, masses to choose from, vegan and veggie, heavily catered for, if you can't find something to suit your pallet here, I would be extremely surprised. I was most impressed that they had real ale on the bar too, seriously, something for everyone. We will definitely visit again, in the near future. This is a five star experience, from booking on the telephone to paying the bill on leaving. See you Soon. Dave & Jill
